Big Bang's comeback song 'Still Life' tops iTunes in 33 countries, regions

K-pop idol group Big Bang released their comeback song “Still Life” (“Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter” in Korean) on April 5 and it topped music charts in different countries.

“Still Life” signaled Big Bang’s return after four years since releasing the song “Flower Road’ in March 2018.

This time, Big Bang made their comeback with four members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung and T.O.P.

According to YG Entertainment, “Still Life” is No. 1 on iTunes charts in 33 countries and regions, and topped the real-time charts of Melon in Korea, QQ Music in China and Line Music in Japan.

On Melon, Korea’s biggest music streaming and download site, “Still Life” is No. 1 on the Top 100 chart, which reflects usage in the last 24 hours and last hour based on 40 percent streaming and 60 percent download.

G-Dragon and T.O.P participated as songwriters for “Still Life.”

On YouTube, the music video for “Still Life” has garnered 9.43 million views in 12 hours after its release.

When Big Bang’s comeback was announced in February, it was also announced that T.O.P had ended his contract with YG Entertainment to focus on his personal activities as an artist and entrepreneur.

“Being super honest with the fans, I really don’t want to say this is my last. But even more frankly, it might be a long while until I come back as T.O.P of Big Bang. Over those five years, our music tastes and activities probably differed a lot, and now Big Bang music and T.O.P’s music are quite different. I’m at the stage in my life where I want to awaken to fresh new challenges, stimuli and transition,” T.O.P told Hong Kong-based Prestige magazine.

He added, “I’ve been saying to my fans since my debut that I’ve been planning to come back with a solo album sometime in the future, whenever I feel ready. Now, I feel ready. My first album will come out soon, and it will be my very first journey of sharing who I really am.”
