Sara has another no frills message for dad Digong following VP endorsement
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio had a short and simple response over the weekend to her father President Duterte's reiteration of his endorsement to her vice presidential bid.

"Nagpapasalamat po ako sa endorsement ni Pangulong Duterte sa aking kandidatura as vice president (I thank President Duterte for endorsing my candidacy for vice president)," Mayor Duterte said in an ambush interview Sunday, April 3 after attending the meet-and-greet with "barong" makers of Pandi in Disenyo Pandi, Bagong Barrio, Pandi, Bulacan.
The Chief Executive promised to support her in his speech during the rally of the ruling Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) last March 31 in Lapu-Lapu City. The elder Duterte chairs the politcal party.
The lady official had a similar, no frills message to President Duterte on the occasion of the latter's 77th birthday last March 28.
Compare this the emotional, taped message that the Duterte patriarch sent his beloved daughter on March 18 during the latter's guesting in a game show telecast in Cebu.
There have long been rumors that the father and daughter's relationship is strained.
Mayor Duterte, along with Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) presidential bet Bongbong Marcos, comprise the so-called UniTeam. The two are consistent frontrunners in pre-election surveys.
The Cusi wing of PDP-Laban, which the President is identified with, had earlier endorsed Marcos's Palace bid.
Meanwhile, during a separate meet-and-greet with local and community leaders at Malamig Resort in Bustos, Bulacan, Mayor Francis Albert “Iskul” Juan formally announced his support to Mayor Duterte.
"Atin pong ipapanalo si Vice President Sara Duterte sa ating bayan. Siya po ang susunod na lider na maghahatid sa atin sa magandang bukas (Let's carry Vice President Sara Duterte in our town. She is the next leader who will bring us a bright tomorrow)," Juan told his constituents during the event.
Mayor Duterte chairs the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) party.
