Missing Rosario, Cavite parish priest found unconscious, tied up inside vehicle
CAVITE – The parish priest of the Most Holy Rosary Parish Church in Rosario was found unconscious and tied up inside his vehicle in Silang on Sunday, April 3, after he was reported missing for two days.
Rev. Fr. Leoben Phem Octavo Peregrino was immediately taken to a hospital in Santa Rosa, Laguna for treatment and was later transferred to another hospital in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Rosario Municipal Police Station Chief Lt. Col. Ruther Saquilayan told the Manila Bulletin that they have yet to obtain clearance from Peregrino's doctors to get his statement regarding the incident.
Peregrino left Rosario on the morning of April 1 to buy candles in Imus but did not make it back.
Authorities are now reviewing the CCTV footage to trace Peregrino's trail from when he left the parish church to shed light on the case.
