Zamboanga's most wanted person arrested

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Zamboanga police arrested a rape suspect tagged as Zamboanga’s most wanted person during police operations at Sitio 41, Barangay Bohe Pahu, Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan Province on Friday, April 29.

P/Col. Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga Police Acting Director, identified the suspect as Daniel Gracia y Samonte, 53.

Police troops served the warrant of arrest to the suspect who is wanted for nine counts of rape, sexual assault and three counts of acts of lasciviousness.

Although the court recommended a bail of P200,000 for sexual assault and another P180,000 bail for acts of lasciviousness, no bail was recommended for rape.

The accused was brought to the Lamitan Municipal Police Station for disposition.

Lorenzo commended the police units responsible for Gracia’s arrest.
