MisOr police arrest 41 wanted for various crimes, seize over P200,000 worth of shabu in one day
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- The Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO) has arrested a total of 41 wanted persons in a single day on Friday, April 29.
MORPPO director Col. Raniel Valcones said local police from the different municipalities and cities made the arrests of wanted persons through their Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) on Friday.
Valones said of the 41 arrested individuals, 15 of them were most wanted people facing frustrated murder cases, rape, homicide and reckless imprudence resulting in double slight injuries and damaged to property.
Meanwhile, 26 of the arrested individuals were other wanted persons, including those individuals who had been arrested due to violation of the Republic Act No. 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.
On the same day, the Misamis Oriental police had also confiscated a total of 43.9741 grams of alleged shabu with an estimated market value of P285,130. There were also two firearms being surrendered under ‘Oplan Katok’.
Valones lauded the police personnel in the province and urged them to continue helping the community by eliminating the illegal drugs and arresting those individuals who violate the law.
“The operations are geared towards ensuring safe, accurate, free & fair elections 2022 that will prevent the occurrence of all forms of crimes within the province now that the national and local elections 2022 is less than weeks,” Valones added.
SACLEO is an anti-criminality strategy to arrest all suspected criminals thru search warrant on illegal drugs, illegal gambling, loose firearms and explosives, and the implementation of warrant of arrest on eight focus crimes and other wanted persons to ensure the safe and secured province.
