20 out of 30 barangays in Pasig City log zero active Covid-19 cases

The City Health Office of Pasig logged zero active Covid-19 cases in 20 out of 30 barangays in the city on Friday, April 29.
These barangays include Bagong Katipunan, Bambang, Buting, Caniogan, Kalawaan, Kapasigan, Malinao, Oranbo, Palatiw, Pineda, Sagad, San Antonio, San Joaquin, San Jose, San Nicolas, Sta. Cruz, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Rosa, Sto. Tomas, and Sumilang.
Barangay Pinagbuhatan recorded the most active cases, logging five, while Ugong, Maybunga, and Kapitolyo have two active cases each.
Bagong Ilog, Dela Paz, Manggahan, Rosario, San Miguel, and Santolan have only one active case each.
As of April 29, Pasig City had 80,882 confirmed cases, 79,262 recoveries, and 1,603 deaths.
Currently, the city has 17 active cases, two points off the 19 cases counted on Thursday, April 28.
Since the number of active cases in the city has been fluctuating between 30 and 14 from April 1 to April 29, the local government continues to remind its citizens to adhere to the minimum public health and safety protocols.
In the event of potential surge in Covid-19 cases in May as projected by the Department of Health (DOH), the city health office assured citizens that it is well-prepared to handle it.
Throughout the two-year pandemic, the city has developed a functioning system that efficiently implements the Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat, Reintegrate (PDITR) strategy.
Efforts to continue utilizing digital contact tracing and maximizing its Covid-19 referral centers, molecular lab services and quarantine facilities enable the city to withstand a surge, according to the city health office.
The vaccination programs for adults and the pediatric population (ages 12 to 17 and five to 11) are on-going.
The city also began its second booster shot rollout for immunocompromised individuals on Monday, April 25.
