Filipinos from Bahrain bring the Philippine Flag to Mount Everest Base Camp

The Philippine Embassy in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, congratulates Filipino couple Jeune Marie Catindig and Walter Borja, who are based in Bahrain, for successfully hiking more than 97 kilometers in 10 days under very challenging conditions to reach the Mount Everest Base Camp recently.
Walter Borja and Jeune Marie Catindig are part of a small group named Eco Team of 6, consisting of three hikers from Bahrain and three local guides from the Tamang ethnic group, who assisted them as they scaled the base camp with a height of 5,364 meters above sea level.

Catindig has been working as an investment manager in Bahrain since 2012 while Borja is a professional photographer. The two are part of a small group named Eco Team of 6, consisting of three hikers from Bahrain and three local guides from the Tamang ethnic group, who assisted them as they scaled the base camp with a height of 5,364 meters above sea level.

The Philippine Embassy is proud to have assisted the couple prior to the climb by providing them the Philippine flag which they proudly displayed upon reaching the Mount Everest Base Camp.
