Two delivery riders nabbed in Tuguegarao City for selling marijuana


CAGAYAN -- Two delivery riders were arrested by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Cagayan Provincial Police Office for selling dried marijuana leaves during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday afternoon, April 27, in Pengue Ruyu, Tuguegarao City.

The suspects were identified as Jomarie Laman, 26, a resident of Pengue Ruyu, Tuguegarao City; and Narwin Ordonio, 25, a resident of Centro 10, Tuguegarao City. Laman, according to the police, was a high value target.

The suspects were caught selling five transparent plastic sachets containing suspected dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops weighing 10 grams to one of the operatives who posed as buyers.

Also confiscated during the operation were a brown carton wrapped with transparent packaging tape, white folded paper all containing suspected marijuana dried leaves with fruiting tops weighing 500 grams with an estimated market value of P60,000, one unit gray C25V Realme cellular phone, red plastic bag and the buy-bust money.

Suspects are now in the custody of PDEA Regional Office II while cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165 are being prepared to be filed against them.
