Kiko tells Comelec amid debate, interview absences: Respect your institution
CANLUBANG, Laguna—Vice presidential candidate Senator Kiko Pangilinan on Friday called on the members of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to respect their institution as they continue to tolerate some candidates who are skipping their sponsored interviews and debates.

"This is my message to Comelec: What happened to you?" Pangilinan asked in Filipino during an ambush interview after his and presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo's campaign rally here.
Pangilinan said presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s and vice presidential bet Sara Duterte's skipping of Comelec-sponsored events insults the poll body.
He then dared Comelec "to show their teeth" because "they are not useless."
"Baka naman bigyan ninyo ng konting respeto yung institusyon ng COMELEC... Hindi na nga humaharap sa debate ninyo, hindi pa humaharap sa interview ninyo, eh ano pang silbi ninyo? Pasensya na. Salamat (Show your institution some respect. These candidates are not attending your debates and interviews. So what is your purpose I'm, sorry. Thank you)," he said.
