Police confiscated P357,000 worth of alleged shabu and arrested three suspects, including a crime group member, in two separate operations conducted in the cities of Malabon and Navotas on Wednesday night, April 27, and early Thursday morning, April 28.
The Northern Police District (NPD) Drug Enforcement Unit identified the two suspects as Mark Beltran, 21; and Smack Baylan, 21; both from Navotas City.
The DDEU launched the entrapment operation against the suspects along Salmon Street, Brgy. Longos, Malabon City at around 10 p.m. on Wednesday after receiving intelligence information about their illegal drug trade activities.
Seized from the suspects were three plastic sachets containing around 50 grams of alleged shabu with a market value of P340,000, the buy-bust money, and a navy blue pouch.
Meanwhile, a crime group member yielded P17,000 worth of alleged shabu and an illegal firearm in another police operation held along Roldan Street, Brgy. Tangos South, Navotas City at around 4:25 a.m. on Thursday.
The Navotas City Police Station (NCPS) identified the suspect as Alfredo Borlongan, 32, a resident of the said barangay and a member of the Legaspi Drug Criminal Group.
Police said that the NCPS Intelligence Section conducted monitoring against the suspect and spotted him walking along Roldam Street while carrying a gun.
The NCPS recovered from the suspect the P17,000 worth of “shabu” weighing 2.5 grams, a caliber .38 revolver without a serial number, and three bullets.
The three suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Borlongan will also be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act” in relation to the Omnibus Election Code, police said.
