P3.4-M worth of shabu seized, lady drug suspect nabbed in Quezon drug sting


Government anti-narcotics operatives seized P3.4 million worth of shabu following the arrest of a female drug suspect tagged as a high value target on Wednesday, April 27 in a buy-bust in Tayabas, Quezon.

The suspect, identified as Anna Marie M Laurel, 45, was collared at 12 a.m. in Barangay Mayumi where five pieces of knot-tied transparent plastic sachet containing more or less 500 grams of shabu and buy-bust money were confiscated.

Laurel a resident of Barangay Laurel, Tagkawayan town in this province faces charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165, or the “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’

The operation was carried out by the PDEA Quezon Provincial Office, PDEA Regional Office IV-A Special Enforcement Team (SET), PDEA Seaport Interdiction Unit-Quezon and Tayabas City Police Station. (Chito A. Chavez)
