Mayor Vico on choice of candidates: Pumili ng hindi tali sa lumang kalakaran
Incumbent Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said on Wednesday, April 27, that when he was building his lineup for vice mayor, congressman, and councilors for the upcoming May 2022 elections, he chose those who stand with the changes Pasigueños need and believe in doing what is best for the next generation.
(If I will just think about myself, I would rather not build a lineup. If it was anopen slate, it would be much easier for me to campaign and no one will have hard feelings if they were not chosen. However, this is not a fight for me to become mayor. This is a fight for the true change that we can pass on to the next generations)," Sotto said in a Facebook post.
He said that a council that believes on what they are fighting for is essential in order to further strengthen and improve the changes that they have started.
Yung handang tumulong sa pagtataguyod ng isang makabago at tapat na gobyerno (There were a lot of people who applied to be a part of my lineup. In fact, some of them are my friends. A lot of them were also good people and smart. But we chose people who are not slaves to the old ways. We chose those who agree with my Zero-Kickback Policy. We chose those who are ready to support and lead in realizing a new and honest government)," the mayor explained.
Running in the upcoming elections with Sotto are Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr. for vice mayor and Congressman Roman Romulo who is seeking reelection.
The team’s candidates for councilor for District 1 are: Mark Gil “Volta” Delos Santos, Roderick “Eric” Gonzales, Raymund “Kiko” Rustia, Paul Roman “Pao” Santiago, Paul Senogat, and Simon Romulo Tantoco.
