One of the country’s most beloved queens, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach will be hosting this year’s Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Finals, along with Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere and Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Tebow. It marks the first time in Philippine pageant history that three former Miss Universe winners have hosted a pageant together in the country’s most sought-after title.
As the most followed Miss Universe on IG, Pia has been taking them on her globetrotting adventures. Certainly, they are eager to see this beauty in person once again in person and on stage.
MUPh Director of Communications Voltaire Tayag caught up with her busy schedule to have find out how she’s doing.
Q: How did you feel/react when you found out that Demi & Iris will be your co-host?
Pia: I’m excited to be co-hosting with Demi and Iris. The three of us have been friends for a while now, so any opportunity to see each other...or work together is something I look forward to. It’ll be an amazing reunion soon!
Q: Everyone is excited for you to be hosting MUPh 2022. It has been 7 years since you won Miss Universe. But you are even more loved today than the day you were crowned. What do you attribute this to?
Pia: Aww, thank you! I think I’m the one more excited to be doing this for Miss Universe PH! I think it’s because I try my best to stay connected to them through social media. I try to keep you guys updated with what’s going on in my life and share bits and pieces of what I’m doing now. While social media is great to reach different people, I do miss meeting and going to gatherings where I can meet everyone, though. Maybe soon!
Q: What advice do you have for the Top 30 delegates who are about to embark on their MUPh journey?
Pia: You’ve been studying, preparing, and training for this, so now, give it all you’ve got but don’t forget to enjoy the process! It’s easy to get caught up in the noise and other people’s opinions of you... but don’t forget to listen to your own voice too! Dedicate your journey to something that matters, and put your heart into everything that you do! You can do it!
