Governor Daniel R. Fernando, who is seeking re-election under the National Unity Party (NUP) in the province of Bulacan, is confident that the May 9 national and local elections will be peaceful.

During a motorcade in Bustos town on Tuesday, April 26, Fernando said that despite reports on alleged vote-buying, the campaign period has been peaceful so far.
"Sa ngayon, wala akong nararamdamang problema sa mga national at local candidates, sana magtuloy-tuloy ito, magiging parehas ang bawa't kandidato, walang dayaan para maging matiwasay ang Halalan 2022," (So far, I have not seen major problems involving national and local candidates. I hope this will continue and that all candidates will be fair, no fraud will be committed in the election for it to be peaceful)," he said.
To avoid the usual difficulties being encountered in finding their names on the voter's list, Fernando advised Bulakenyos to start looking where their names are enlisted.
"It always happens on election day that many complain because their names are not on the voters' list," he added.
Fernando reminded Bulakenyos that President Duterte signed Republic Act 11546, which divided the province of Bulacan into six legislative districts -- Calumpit, Hagonoy, Paombong, Pulilan, Bulakan, and the City of Malolos comprise the first district; Baliuag, Bustos, and Plaridel are part of the 2nd district; San Ildefonso, San Miguel, San Rafael, and Dona Remedios Trinidad (DRT) form part of the 3rd district; Obando, Marilao, and the City of Meycauayan, 4th district; Guiguinto, Balagtas, Pandi, and Bocaue, 5th district; and Sta Maria, Norzagaray and Angat, 6th district.
In the previous elections, there were numerous complaints regarding the missing names as well as those who took hours to find their polling precincts.
