A total of 143 personnel of the Eastern Police District (EPD) are set to cast their votes during the three-day local absentee voting (LAV) period, starting on Wednesday, April 27, until Friday, April 29.
The 143 personnel, approved for the LAV by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), will vote for the president, vice president, senators, and party-list representatives ahead of the May 9 polls.
On the first day of the LAV, police personnel cast their votes at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the EPD Headquarters, located on Caruncho Avenue in Barangay Malinao, Pasig City.

Col. Marcelo B. Dayag, the Deputy District Director for Administration (DDDA) of the EPD, supervised the event.
The LAV was facilitated by the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division (RPRMD) of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), along with the District Personnel and Records Management Division (DPRMD) of the EPD.
The LAV allows individuals who will be working, covering, reporting, and lending their services during the election day to vote at an earlier date.
Those qualified for the LAV include government officials and employees, police personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), as well as members of the media (print, radio, station, etc).
Around 84,357 individuals who registered for the LAV were approved by the Comelec.
According to Brig. Gen. Roderick Alba, PNP Public Information Office (PIO) chief, 3,248 police personnel stationed in Metro Manila and in headquarters at Camp Crame have listed for the LAV.
