'This is censorship,' cries BBM spox after FB page gets suspended

The Facebook (FB) page of lawyer Vic Rodriguez, spokesperon and chief of staff of presidential bet Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., was suspended by Meta on April 25, a move which he claims is "censorship of the highest degree".

"FB/Meta suspended my account because I am for Bongbong Marcos," Rodriguez said in a message to reporters on Tuesday, April 26.

"This is censorship of the highest degree and interference on a sovereign act," Rodriguez continued.

According to the screenshots provided by Rodriguez himself, Meta suspended his account after it found that the account or activity on it did not follow Meta community standards. Meta is the parent company of Facebook.

"I will not appeal for I have not violated anything. My duty is to the Filipino people and not to FB/Meta. I will continue comnunicating with the many other forms of media available that are free from filter, censorship, or manipulation from foreign platform providers," he further said.

As Marcos's spokesperson, Rodriguez regularly issues statements on his Facebook page pertaining to developments surrounding the Marcos presidential campaign.
