RPMD NCR survey shows incumbent mayors ahead over rivals

Incumbent mayors in the National Capital Region (NCR) will win if the elections are held now.

The RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) released the results of its "Boses ng Bayan: NCR 2022" survey held from April 17 to 21.

The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 10,000 respondents randomly selected from 7,322,361 registered voters in various areas of Metro Manila with a margin of error from 2.5 to 3.0 percent for large cities while the margin of error for small local government units with 850 respondents was 3.36 percent.

In Quezon City, incumbent Mayor Joy Belmonte got 65 percent to edge out Rep. Mike Defensor who received 33 percent.

In Manila, Honey Lacuna topped the survey with 55 percent followed by Amado Bagatsing with 20 percent and Alex Lopez with 18 percent.

For mayor in Navotas, John Rey Tiangco got 88 percent while rival RC Cruz received nine percent.

In Caloocan, Along Malapitan topped the survey for mayor with 85 percent while rival Egay Erice got 15 percent.

For Muntinlupa mayor, Ruffy Biazon maintained his No. 1 position with 85 percent while rival Red Mariñas got 13 percent.

In Pasig City, incumbent Mayor Vico Sotto got 67 percent in the survey against Iyo Bernardo’s 30 percent.

In Taguig City, mayoral candidate Lani Cayetano received 70 percent while Arnel Cerafica received 25 percent.

Mayor Marcy Teodoro of Marikina got 58 percent against Congressman Bayani Fernando with 38 percent.
