Pacquiao to increase nurses' monthly wage to P50K if elected president

Presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao said Tuesday he will push for P50,000 pesos as the standard monthly salary of nurses in the Philippines.

Pacquiao said he will do that so Filipino nurses will no longer go abroad and only give their services to the people.

"Ang gobyerno ang mag-aadjust, hindi 'yung tao (It's the government that will adjust, not the people)," he told reporters in a press conference during his campaign activity in Samar.

The lawmaker said increasing the minimum wage of nurses is possible if there is no corrupt official in the government.

He added it can be done considering that we have "trillions" of pesos in the budget every year.

"Kung isipin mo talaga walang nakawan, korapsyon sa ating gobyerno, magagawa natin lahat 'yan (If you'd think of it, that there's no corruption in the government, it can be done)," he said.
