The Manila Cathedral in Intramuros will mark on Wednesday, April 27, its 41st anniversary as minor basilica.

To celebrate the occasion, the Cathedral will unveil a special marker.
"As we celebrate this year the 41st anniversary of the declaration of the Manila Cathedral as Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, we will be unveiling a special marker sculpted by Filipino artist Egai Talusan Fernandez for the Cathedral cornerstone," the Cathedral said in a Facebook post.
"We will also open a special exhibit that will feature the Cathedral 3D scale model and the newly restored architectural drawings and plans during the 1958 reconstruction," it added.
The Cathedral said the special exhibit will be opened after the 12:10 p.m. Eucharistic celebration.
On April 10, Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula also blessed the newly unveiled image of the "Homeless Jesus" outside the Manila Cathedral.
The “Homeless Jesus” is an artwork of Timothy Schmalz which depicts Jesus, identifiable by the wounds on his feet, sleeping on a street bench wrapped in a blanket.
