The Makati City local government on Monday, April 25, started giving its residents their second Covid-19 booster shot after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Health (DOH) gave the greenlight for its administration to immunocompromised individuals.
The launch of the fourth shot or second booster dose wash held at the Cembo Health Center and was attended by Makati City Covid-19 Operations Incident Commander Dr. Roland Unson, DOH Assistant Regional Director Dr. Aleli Anne Grace Sudiacal, and other DOH officials.
According to Unson, the health officials expressed satisfaction with the services and facilities at the vaccination site.
The local government unit (LGU) said that those who wish to receive their second booster shot can only be jabbed three months after receiving their first booster dose.
It also encouraged Makatizens to get their second booster shot at any of the city's vaccination centers:
Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
San Isidro Health Center
East Rembo Health Center
Cembo Health Center
Rizal Health Center
Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m to 6 p.m.:
Circuit Mall Makati
San Lorenzo Place Mall
The city government also reminded the vaccinees to bring their vaccination card, valid ID, and medical certificate.
As of April 25, Makati City has deployed 1,326,108 Covid-19 vaccines to its residents and 240,417 booster shots.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that immunocompromised individuals are given priority because the Health Technology Assessment Council (HTAC) already completed its assessment for the need of second booster dose for the said sector.
“Nauna po ang ebidensiya at mas kumpleto po ang ebidensiya na hawak ng ating HTAC para sa immunocompromised. Kasunod na po ang senior citizens at health workers (Evidences for the immunocompromised sector was more complete and have been obtained earlier by HTAC. The next will be for senior citizens and health workers),” she added.
