Las Piñas police to sue motorist who hit senior citizen with baseball bat
The Las Piñas police will file charges of physical injury against a motorist who hit a senior citizen with a baseball during a traffic altercation on Sunday, April 24.
Col. Jaime Santos, city police chief, denied reports that there was a settlement between the victim, identified as Julian Adlao, Jr. 70, of Cupang Muntinlupa, Gerson Dave Gonzales, of Talon Kuatro, Las Piñas City.
Santos said Adlao already gave his statement to the police on Monday, April 25, that he would pursue charges against Gonzales.
“We are just waiting for the result of the medical certificate of Adlao and we will be filing physical injury (charges) against Gonzales at the Prosecutors Office,” Santos said.
Police reports showed that Adlao and Gonzales engaged in a traffic altercation at about 4:30 p.m. along Marcos Alvarez Avenue, Barangay Talon Singko, Las Pinas City.
Gonzales reportedly took a baseball bat from his vehicle and hit Adlao three times in the body and was only pacified by bystanders when the victim fell to the ground.
