Faulty electrical wiring causes fire, panic inside Pasay City hall

A spark due to faulty electrical wiring at the fourth floor of the Pasay City Hall caused panic among its employees on Tuesday April 26.

According to Peter Pardo, Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano’s chief of staff, a thick smoke billowed from the fourth floor of the city hall followed by electrical spark at around 2 p.m.

Pardo said the Bureau of Fire and Protection under Supt. Crossib Cante immediately responded and the spark was contained after 10 minutes.

He said employees were asked to leave the City Hall immediately.

Rubiano’s chief of staff said the BFP removed the ceiling of the fourth floor to determine where the faulty electrical spark came from.
