More than half of the country’s registered voters are women.
The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), on Tuesday, April 26, said that data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) showed that 51 percent of the registered voters for the 2022 national and local elections are women while 49 percent are men.

Of this, 33,644,237 are female domestic voters and 32,076,993 are male domestic voters.
At 1,072,159, the number of female overseas voters is also greater than 625,056 male overseas voters, said PCW.
Citing the data of 2019 elections, the Commission said that more than 31.8 million women have registered, but only 24.2 million voted. This prompted the women’s group to encourage all registered Filipinas to vote and participate in the upcoming elections.
“Hinihikayat ng PCW ang lahat ng rehistradong Juana na bumoto at makiisa sa Eleksyon 2022 para maisulong ang agenda ng kababaihan (PCW encourages all registered Juana to vote and join the 2022 elections to promote women’s agenda),” it said.
