1,465 Covid-19 cases logged from April 18 to 24--- DOH

The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 1,465 Covid-19 cases from April 18 to 24, having an average daily rate of 209 cases.

"Sa mga bagong kaso, wala sa mga ito ang may malubha at kritikal na karamdaman (In the new cases, none of them have a severe and critical illness)," it noted.

The agency said that the recently logged cases were 12 percent lower compared to the number of cases recorded from April 11 to 17.

From April 11 to 24, the health department said a total of 31 people died due to Covid-19.

Despite the low number of active Covid-19 cases in the country, the DOH has urged the public to always observe minimum health and safety protocols, especially wearing a face mask.

As such, the public was urged by the agency to get vaccinated against Covid-19, and if already inoculated, they must get a booster shot to strengthen their waning immunity.

Vaccination rate, hospital beds utilization

Based on the data provided by the DOH, 67 million individuals have already been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country. This was 74.98 percent of the government’s target population.

Meanwhile, it noted that 12.9 million have already received their Covid-19 vaccine booster shots.

The health department said 6.6 million senior citizens were already fully vaccinated which translates to 76.35 percent of their target population.

As of April 24, the DOH said 726 patients with severe and critical Covid-19 cases have been admitted to hospitals.
