Miss Universe PH 2022 beauties sizzle in Boracay

It's less than a week to go before the highly-anticipated Grand Coronation Night of Miss Universe Philippines 2022, but before that, the 32 candidates enjoyed a much-needed 'workation' in  the world-class luxury resort of AQUA Boracay right smack on the island's windsurfing capital of Bulabog Beach.


No less than Aqua Boracay's CEO and president Antonio Co, together with wife Carol, welcomed the excited MUPH beauties to their property conceptualized by no less than the acclaimed French designer Philippe Starck. 

“We're proud to host this year's delegates of the Miss Universe Philippines in AQUA. We are one with the organization in bringing forward the best that our country can offer to the global arena,” Mr. Co said. Indeed, Aqua proved itself every inch  a fitting venue for the Miss Universe PH swimsuit presentation. The beauty queens were a sight to behold sashaying through Aqua's long majestic pool lined on the side with relaxing day beds and cabanas.

In between breaks of their hectic pre-pageant activities, the girls posed for their social media feeds with the backdrop of Aqua's lush green gardens. They loved that one can easily dip in the pool or walk to the beach, which is just a few steps away.

"The first time I saw the place, I was very amazed because it has a very wonderful view. Hopefully I could go back here after the pageant," revealed Miss Palawan Angelica Lopez.


Miss Makati Michelle Dee bared that she has spent time in Aqua previously and will always come back in a heartbeat. "Their treatment is so VIP, the food, all the way to the rooms."

All the girls were able to take a much-needed rest in their rooms, decorated with art and furniture by renowned Filipino designer Vito Selma. Each space is equipped with a dining table and chairs, LED TV, safe deposit box, toiletries, weighing scale as well as other amenities that one can usually find in a five-star property. The complimentary mini bar even features a Nespresso machine with the coffee pods to go with it.

 

The grandest area in the resort is definitely the Ibiza Suite Sea View, one of the two luxurious villas in Aqua Boracay, measuring close to 700 square meters. It has several rooms, entertaining areas, a mobile bar, and a private pool with a balcony that overlooks the ocean.


Aqua's sprawling Ibiza Suite was the site of an after-party celebration that also saw the announcement of the 8 Aqua Angels chosen among the MUPh delegates who best embody the sexy-sophisticated vibe of the resort. One among them will be announced as the winner of the Miss Aqua Boracay award to be announced during the Miss Universe PH preliminary competition at Cove Manila on April 27.

The eight Aqua Angels are Miss Laguna Sonja Jeyn Tanyag, Miss Taguig Ma. Katrina Llegado, Miss Pasay  Silvia Celeste Cortesi, Miss Makati Michelle Dee, Miss Baguio Ghenesis Latugat,  Miss Cebu Province Lou Dominique Piczon, Miss Palawan Angelica Lopez, and Miss Aklan Jona Sweett.


Jonas Gaffud, creative director of Miss Universe Philippines, said he was glad  “to see the candidates happy and being themselves. Temporarily taking their minds off the competition is a good thing. I guess the fun and relaxing vibe of AQUA made it happen.”
