Drilon says VP Leni, Pangilinan 'already won' the May 2022 polls in last Saturday's 'mammoth' rally
If the May 2022 elections were held last Saturday, Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis “KiKo” Pangilinan has won the presidential and vice presidential race, so said Senate Minority Franklin Drilon said on Sunday.
“Kung ang eleksyon ay nangyari kagabi, panalo na kami (If the elections were held yesterday, we already won),” Drilon said in an interview with Senate reporters in Iloilo City.
“Indeed it was a mammoth rally. The people were very passionate. The passion of those attending, obvious na hindi sila hakot (obviously they went there on their own). The last time I saw something like that was in 1986. There is rekindling,” Drilon added.
“I have confidence that despite with all the difficulty, the people's will will be shown and find its way when the people cast their ballots (on May 9),” the minority leader said.
The opposition stalwart also said there would be no let up in pushing for the victory of the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem.
“Vice President Leni has been consistent and Sen. KiKo Pangilinan is our Vice President until the end,” he said responding to queries regarding some supporters’ efforts to team up Robredo with other vice presidential candidate.
“We will work for the success of the Leni-KiKo tandem,” Drilon said.
