7 persons nabbed for P363,000 shabu in Taguig

Operatives arrested seven individuals and seized P363,120 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in three buy-bust operations in Taguig on April 22 and 23.

On April 22, the Southern Police District (SPD) Drug Enforcement Unit, District Intelligence Division and District Mobile Force Battalion conducted a buy-bust operation at about 9:40 p.m. at Capistrano Extension in Barangay Hagonoy, Taguig.

SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the arrested suspects as Rommel Sta Ana, 51; Danny Lito Orsales; 34; Aldrin Pascual, 42; and Emilyn Waquiz, 44, all residents of Taguig.

Recovered from the suspects were six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 25 grams and worth P170,000, and P500 buy-bust money. The suspects were brought to the SPD for documentation and disposition.

On Cuasay Street in Barangay North Signal, Taguig on April 23, the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of two drug suspects identified as Chona Mendones a.k.a. "Madam," 54, and Kyla Mendones, 19, both residents of Taguig.

Recovered from them were nine plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing eight grams with a value of P54,400 and two P100 bills used as buy-bust money.

In another operation by the same operatives at Capistrano Extension in Barangay Hagonoy on April 23, the police arrested Omar Singkag, 33, construction worker and a resident of Taguig.

Seized from Singkag were four plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 20.4 grams with an estimated value of P138,720 and two P100 bills utilized as buy-bust money.

The suspects are temporarily detained at the Taguig police custodial facility while the illegal drugs were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

“I congratulate our personnel for another successful operation against illegal drugs. This means that we cannot be complacent in our campaign against illegal drugs and we need to continue,” said Macaraeg.
