K-pop boy band ASTRO's Sanha tests positive for Covid-19

Sanha, a member of K-pop boy band ASTRO, has tested positive for Covid-19, his agency announced.

Agency Fantagio announced that on April 22, Sanha used a self-test kit as a preemptive measure due to poor condition and the result turned out to be negative.

“However, due to his continued poor condition, he underwent a rapid antigen test, and the test result was positive today (April 23),” it said.

It added, “Currently, Yoon San-ha has no symptoms other than mild cold symptoms, and will focus on treatment and recovery in accordance with the guidelines of the Covid-19 quarantine authorities.”

Fantagio said five other people whose movements had overlapped with Sanha underwent rapid antigen tests, which turned out to be negative.

As a result, the agency said, it is difficult for Sanha to participate in scheduled activities and the resumption of his activities will be announced after confirming his release date from quarantine. Health authorities currently impose a quarantine period of seven days.

In addition, the video call and fan signing event to commemorate the release of Moonbin and Sanha’s second mini-album “Refuge” originally scheduled on April 23 and 23 has been postponed.

South Korea is still experiencing a surge in Covid-19 cases due to the Omicron variant although the daily tally has fallen below 100,000.

On April 23, South Korea recorded 75,449 new Covid-19 cases to bring the total confirmed cases to 16.83 million, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
