DOH aims to jab 7K-13K immunocompromised Pinoys during 2nd Covid-19 booster shot rollout

The Department of Health (DOH) is targeting to vaccinate about 7,000 to 13,000 immunocompromised individuals during the first day of the implementation of administering second Covid-19 booster shot on Monday, April 25.
There are around 690,000 immunocompromised individuals who are eligible to receive the second booster shot, said DOH Undersecretary and National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) Chief Myrna Cabotaje.
“Sa first day, mga 7,000 to 13,000 ang nakikita natin na magpapa-second booster at ikakasa natin sa buong bansa depende sa kahandaan ng ating mga bakuna center na mag implement ng ating second booster (On the first day, we see about 7,000 to 13,000 who will get their second booster. This will be implemented across the country depending on the readiness of our vaccination centers to implement the second booster ),” she said during a public briefing on Saturday, April 23.
In a radio interview, Cabotaje assured that the country’s vaccine supply is enough to start the second booster shot program.
“We have enough supply considering na ang ating (that the) intervals between third shot and fourth shot dito sa (for the) immunocompromised ay (is) three months,” she said.
“Overall, we have enough supply for primary, first and second booster shots,” she added.
People who are immunocompromised were defined by the DOH as individuals with/are immunodeficiency state; HIV, active cancer or malignancy, transplant recipients, undergoing steroid treatment; patients with poor prognosis/bed-ridden patients, and other conditions of immunodeficiency as certified by a physician.
