Bongbong has a 'good heart', says House leader

A ranking member of the House of Representatives believes that Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Bongbong Marcos has a "good heart" and is therefore worthy to lead the country.

"Alam natin kung ano ang kailangan ng tao (We know what the people need). You have a good heart. You can really lead the country," said San Jose Del Monte City lone district Rep. Florida "Rida" Robes on Friday, April 22, referring to Marcos.

Marcos and Robes were on hand during a face-to-face meeting with the UniTeam presidential bet and Bulacan local chief executives at his campaign headquarters in Mandaluyong City.

"All we have to do is support you, to let the people vote for you. For all of us here in our own districts, we have to make this campaign real," added Robes.

The lady lawmaker chairs the House Committee on People's Participation. She also holds four vice chairmanships, namely with the Committees on Ethics and Privileges, Transportation, Accounts, and Housing and Urban Development.

Marcos, along with his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, have consistently led presidential and vice presidential surveys, respectively, ahead of the May 9 polls.

A total of 19 incumbent mayors and several mayoralty candidates from Bulacan attended the meeting at the Marcos headquarters.

All of them assured the Ilocano Palace hopeful a "landslide win" in their respective areas come election day, which is just a little over two weeks away.

Marcos thanked the mayors and the mayoralty candidates for their endorsement and reiterated the need to be more vigilant as the election nears. He also said that while he continues to have a very hectic schedule, he expects things to wind down in the coming weeks as the campaign enters the homestretch.

"Ako naman tuluy-tuloy pa rin ang lakad ko, pero mababawasan na dahil andito na tayo sa tinatawag na endgame (As for me, I still have continuous sorties, but they will be fewer now that we're in the endgame)," he said.

Among the contingent of mayors in attendance were Christian Natividad of Malolos; Vergel Meneses of Bulakan; Amboy Manlapaz of Hagonoy, and his wife, mayoral candidate Flordeliza Manlapaz; Ferdinand Estrella of Baliuag; Francis Albert Juan of Bustos; and Henry Villarica of Meycauayan.

Also in attendance were Ricardo Silvestre of Marilao; Edwin Santos of Obando, and his wife, Obando mayoralty candidate Esperanza Santos; Guiguinto mayoralty candidate Agatha Paula Cruz; Crispin Castro of Pandi; Eladio Gonzales Jr. of Balagtas; Jose Santiago Jr. of Bocaue; Arthur Robes of San Jose Del Monte City; Eric Tiongson of San Miguel; Jocell Casaje of Plaridel; Mary Ann Marcos of Paombong; and Leo Nicolas, who represented Norzagaray Mayor Ade Cristobal.
