Bernadette Reyes shares motorcycling journey

She’s a familiar face, being among GMA’s more popular and beautiful reporters.

But did you know that Bernadette Reyes is more than just about delivering the news?

She is also an avid motorcycle rider, driving a big 400cc machine, no less.

To think that she did not even know how to ride a bicycle until recently.

In a recent Facebook post, Bernadette shared her motorcycling journey, noting how it all began with her family giving her a BMX bike as present.

"I was so happy that day! Nanood ng YouTube 'How to ride a bike,' inalis 'yung pedal at pinag-aralan balansehin ang sarili kaysa 'yung may bubuntot sa likod. After all, we are in charge of our own destiny ika nga," Bernadette said.

She soon learned how to ride an underbone, specifically a Suzuki Smash.

She later bought a Vespa, and then finally, a big bike.

Bernadette is now urging other girls to try and get their own motorcycles using the hashtag #kungkayanilakayamo.

She said, “Never too late to learn how to ride...gaya ng maraming girls, takot na takot ako nung una mag bike. iningatan kasi tayo ng mga magulang natin na hindi magka peklat...takot tayong ma fall sa bike...(pero sa love hala fall ng fall ) pero hanggang kailan matatakot?

"Gusto ko na mas marami pang lady riders ang maging part ng motorcycle community kasi more than the pleasure of riding, its the people you meet along the way that makes riding worthwhile," she added.
