As a way of showing support to preserve Mother Earth, the Provincial Government of Bulacan, through the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) conducted a clean-up drive in Brgy. Sto. Rosario and tree planting activity at the Eco Park in San Isidro II, Paombong, Bulacan on Friday, April 22.
BENRO was joined by the staff of Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) Paombong in the clean-up drive wherein a total of 100 fruit-bearing trees, including Nipa Palm, were planted inside the eco-park.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando encouraged Bulakenyos to utilize the 4Rs of waste management -- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recover -- and expressed his willingness to implement more programs to contribute to the preservation and conservation of natural resources for future generations.
Due to problems that the world is facing about global warming and climate change, Fernando said that their combined efforts are a big help to the environment.
Earth Day is an annual event observed on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection and is widely recognized as the largest secular observance in the world.
