Villar guarantees completion of Bacolod-Negros Occidental Economic Highway
The completion of the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Economic Highway (BANOCEH) is part of UniTeam Senate slate member Mark Villar’s list of electoral promises.

“BANOCEH is under the ‘Build, Build, Build’ program of the Duterte administration. This project is a significant infrastructure that aims to ease traffic congestion and aid in the economic development of the province of Negros Occidental and the country in general,” the former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary said in a press statement on Thursday, April 21.
The 49.82-kilometer road project has been allocated a P7.97-billion budget. It was originally began in 2017. The road is projected to be completed by 2024.
It is meant to connect Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City to Victorias City in Negros Occidental.
Villar estimates that the project will cater to around 20,000 road users per day.
