Sharon Cuneta taunts Isko Moreno over withdrawal call: 'Hindi ko makuha ang logic!'
DUMAGUETE CITY — Megastar Sharon Cuneta questioned the logic of Manila Mayor Francisco 'Isko Moreno’' Domagoso's call for Vice President Leni Robredo to “withdraw” from the presidential race.

Though she did not mention his name, the actress-singer, and wife of vice-presidential candidate Sen. Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan was obviously referring to Moreno—himself a fellow actor—during the Sidlak Negros Oriental People’s Rally on Wednesday night, April 20.
She shared that they just laughed off others’ accusations because critics come up with new stories about Robredo and Pangilinan every day.
“Pinawi-withdraw pa nga si Ma’am Leni. Hindi ko makuha ang logic ni Mayor. Hindi ko talaga makuha (Ma’am Leni is being asked to withdraw. I don’t get the logic of Mayor. I really don’t get it),” Cuneta told the crowd of kakampinks that gathered at the RUSI Ballfield in Daro, Dumaguete City.
“What planet does that kind of logic exists on? I’m so sorry,” she added.
Still, Cuneta thanked Moreno for the “favor” because “many of his supporters are now with Ma’am Leni,” citing social media posts.
“Actually, that’s a beautiful Easter gift he gave us all. Thank you, Mayor,” she said.

Cuneta added that he could not speak for the “other four there” because the Manila mayor was the “only one talking.”
She referred to Senator Panfilo Lacson, former Defense chief Norberto Gonzales, Dr. Willie Ong, and Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, her uncle-in-law, who organized a joint press conference on Easter Sunday to maintain that they were staying in the race.
After alleging that Robredo asked them to withdraw from the race, Moreno went off-script and asked the Vice President to back out.
But on Wednesday, when she took the stage, there was no sign that Robredo was bothered by the recent accusations by Moreno.
She and Pangilinan received endorsements from Negros Oriental Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong and Dumaguete City Mayor Ipe Remollo.

And although she was nervous about the endorsement, Limkaichong stressed that she “chose to stand here” and called Robredo “the best leader for this job.”
Remollo called on Negrenses to give Robredo another big win in Negros Island. She won overwhelmingly in 2016 with more than 255,000 votes from Negros Oriental and more than 614,000 votes from Negros Occidental, and more than 119,000 votes from Bacolod City.
“Wala na ibang team na kailangan natin sa bansa (There is no other team that we need in this country) to make this country a safe and peaceful country and more humane and democratic country,” he said.
This is not lost on Robredo, who mentioned Negros Oriental being included in the electoral protest filed against her by former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
The protest was junked via unanimous decision by Supreme Court justices in February last year.
“Noong 2016, napakalaki ng pinanalo ko dito sa inyo dahil nagtiwala kayo sa akin. Kahit hindi ninyo pa ako masyado kilala noon, binigay ninyo sakin ‘yung inyong tiwala. Kung hindi ninyo sa akin binigay ‘yun, malamang hindi ako vice president ngayon (Last 2016, I won big here because you gave me your trust. Even though you don’t know me well, you gave me your trust. If you did not give me that, I will not be vice president now),” she said.

But now, Robredo is confident to ask one more favor from Negrenses.
“Ngayon, bumabalik ako ngayon sa inyo, malakas po ang loob ko na humingi ng tulong bilang kandidato sa pagkapangulo dahil alam ko na yung anim na taon na mandato binigay ninyo sa aking, nagtrabaho ako ng tama (Now, I return here now to you, I am confident to ask for help as a candidate for the presidency because I know that for the entirety of the six- year mandate you have given me, I worked well),” she stressed.
