QC LGU renovates Amoranto Sports Complex

The Quezon City government has started renovating the Amoranto Sports Complex.

“The Amoranto Sports Complex should be a space where our home-grown athletes can train and improve their skills. With this master plan, we are renovating not just training facilities but also spaces where QC can host competitions and other public gatherings for QCitizens and guests,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

The renovated sports complex will have an approximate 3,500 seating capacity for basketball events.

The Amoranto Swimming Pool is currently being built to include an Olympic size swimming pool with 10 lanes and an elevated pool deck.

Amoranto can host sports competitions as its design is based on local and international standards.

The renovation is set to be completed within this year.

A five-storey deck parking building is also being built to support the high volume of people during an event. It can accommodate more than 300 cars, motorcycles, bikes, and a special area designated for buses.

The city government is also planning to improve the existing grandstand and the track and field oval.

The Amoranto Sports Complex was constructed in 1960 on a 5.8-hectare land in Barangay Paligsahan, Quezon City. It is composed of a grandstand with main stadium, an eight-lane track and field oval, bleachers, and a gymnasium.
