If elected, aspiring president Vice President Leni Robredo will command the military with respect and professionalism like how she defines her relationship with them.

During the Rappler's #WeDecide: The first 100 days with Leni Robredo Wednesday night, April 20, Robredo said that she has a good relationship with the military—not intimate but rooted in respect.
"I have great faith in them. I have (a good relationship with them). It's not a very intimate relationship pero (but) it's a relationship based on respect," the Vice President said.
Robredo believes that the kind of relationship she has with the military is a healthy one, which is far more important than personal ties.
"I think that's more important than personal relationships kasi itong mga sundalo, mga ano 'to, e, mga professional na pumasok ito dito sa pagsusundalo (because these soldiers are professionals who chose to be soldiers) because of their great love for country," Robredo said.
Given a scenario of an EDSA 3 revolution against her presidency, if she wins, Robredo believes that the military will choose good over evil, "they just need to see (my) sincerity."
"Ang paniniwala ko talaga na 'pag binigyan mo sila ng (My belief is when you give them a) choice between good and evil, parating pipiliin nila yung kabutihan, kailangan lang nila makita na sincere ako sa ginagawa ko na seryoso ako sa trabaho kasi (they will always choose the good, they only need to see that I am sincere in everything that I do, that I am serious with my duty because) over the six years, I've been through a lot," the presidential aspirant said.
"I have been at the receiving end of a lot of things. Pero yung (But the) military, at least a great majority of them, very healthy yung relationship namin (our relationship is very healthy)," she added.
