OCTA: Metro Manila's Covid-19 risk level still 'very low'

The average daily attack rate (ADAR) in Metro Manila remained below 1, which means the region is still at “very low risk” for Covid-19, the OCTA Research Group said in its latest monitoring.
OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David, in an update shared on Twitter, Wednesday, April 20, said that Metro Manila’s ADAR was at 0.60.
“While the NCR (National Capital Region) had the highest ADAR of 0.60, this is still below 1 or very low risk. In January , NCR’s ADAR exceeded 100,” David said.
The provinces with the highest ADAR as of April 19 were South Cotabato (0.46), Bataan (0.45), Iloilo (0.34), Cavite (0.30) Davao de Oro (0.27), Davao del Sur (0.27), Agusan del Norte (0.26), Pampanga (0.26), Ilocos Norte (0.25), Tarlac (0.24), and Zamboanga del Sur (0.22).
In an interview with CNN Philippines on Wednesday, David said the group has monitored a noticeable increase in Covid-19 cases in some areas, particularly South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat.
However, he noted that the numbers are not relatively high.
As new Covid sub-variants are continuously being monitored, David advised the public to continue to follow minimum public health standards and get vaccinated to prevent a reversal of trend.
