Two female oldies hit dead by speeding scooter along national road in Cagayan

IGUIG, Cagayan -- Two female oldies were killed after being hit by a Yamaha scooter while crossing a dangerous stretch along National Road in Cagayan on Friday afternoon.

Staff Sergeant Dimetro Q Narag Jr, investigator-on-case, identified victims as Rosa Blanco, 70, and Juanita Herrera, 85. Both are residents of Sta Barbara, Iguig. Cagayan.

Narag said the two victims were hit by the scooter at around 2 p.m. somewhere in Minanga Sur, Iguig.

The driver of the scooter was identified as Bon Andrei, a Child in Conflict with the Law (CICL), and a resident of Centro Norte, Alcala, Cagayan.

Rosa Blance was declared dead on the spot while Juanita was rushed to Cagayan Valley Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The driver was brought to Iguig Police Station for documentation and turnover to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of Iguig.
