Shear line to bring scattered rains, thunderstorms over parts of northern Luzon

Some parts of northern Luzon may experience cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms due to the shear line--a region where warm and cold winds converge, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday, April 2.

PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to the occurrence of moderate to heavy rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, and Mountain Province.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather will continue in Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Bohol, and Davao Oriental due to the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.

However, PAGASA advised those in these areas to remain vigilant due to the possibility of flash floods or landslides as the easterlies may also bring moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains howers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies or localized thunderstorms.

In its extended weather outlook for key areas from April 3 to April 6, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 33-35 degrees Celsius (â„ƒ) in Metro Manila, 29-33â„ƒ in Tuguegarao City, 24-26â„ƒ in Baguio City, 29-32â„ƒ in Tagaytay City, 30-32â„ƒ in Puerto Princesa City, 30-33â„ƒ in Metro Cebu, 32-33â„ƒ in Metro Davao, and 32-34â„ƒ in Zamboanga City.

PAGASA advised the public to stay vigilant as severe thunderstorms, which are often associated with bursts of heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder, and gusty winds that usually last up to two hours, may also trigger flash floods or landslides.
