Man who posted death threat vs BBM charged in QC

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) has filed a grave threat case against the man who allegedly posted on Twitter a threat to shoot presidential candidate former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

The QCPD Public Information Office (PIO) said on Saturday, April 2, that the CIDU filed the case at the QC Prosecutor’s Office at around 8 p.m. on Friday, April 1.

Police identified the suspect as Michael Go, 49, a Grab driver, of Brgy. Sta. Lucia, Quezon City

According to the CIDU, they received a complaint from Marcos’ camp on March 30, regarding the suspect’s Twitter post where he threatened to shoot the presidential candidate with his gun if ever he passes through Barangay Tandang Sora.

The CIDU conducted a follow-up operation and arrested the suspect in Barangay Sta. Lucia at around 10:30 p.m. on March 31 through the help of the barangay public safety officers.

The officers went to Go’s residence and accompanied him to their barangay hall where he voluntarily surrendered to the police. He denied the accusation against him.

Go was charged for violation of Article 282 of the Revised Penal Code (grave threat) in relation to the Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
