Rianne Malixi settles for runner-up honors at Ping Heather Farr Classic

Rianne Malixi limped home with a two-over-par 73 but still finished at joint second in the Ping Heather Farr Classic in Mesa, Arizona over the weekend.

Malixi fumbled with four bogeys in the first 14 holes then fired birdies on the 15th and 17th to finish with a three-round total of 207, two strokes behind eventual winner Jasime Koo.

The 15-year-old rising Filipina golfer, who shot similar 67s in the first two rounds, tied with Kelly Xu for the runner-up honors.

Malixi is coming off a championship title at the Thunderbird all-Star in Phoenix, Arizona as well as three straight victories back home.
