ALFONSO, Cavite – Police arrested a man who attempted to rape and stabbed a 19-year-old woman inside her house during the wee hours of Monday, April 18.
Alfonso Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as Aldrin Alejandrino, who was under the influence of alcohol when he committed the crime.
Staff Sergeant Boyet Q. Soriano said Alejandrino broke into the house of the victim at 3:30 a.m., went to her room and tried to take off her lower garments.
When the victim awoke and shouted for help, Alejandrino stabbed her in the legs, back, cheeks and back of the neck with a knife.
The victim's aunt intervened but the suspect hit her head onto the wall multiple times.
Alejandrino escaped but was later arrested during a follow-up police operation.
Planned crime
According to Staff Sergeant Soriano, the suspect could have possibly been stalking the women inside the victim's house before the day of the crime.
Years ago, Alejandrino was a regular customer in the computer shop of the victim's family, which has closed down.
The suspect faces charges of attempted rape, frustrated murder and attempted homicide.
Prior to the incident, Alejandrino was out on bail for frustrated murder charges after attacking a 13-year-old boy in the same barangay over a personal grudge.
