Help will soon reach Filipino communities in China, particularly in Jilin, amid the lockdowns enforced in various areas due to the surge of new Covid-19 cases, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

The department assured overseas Filipinos in China on Tuesday, April 19, that necessary assistance is already being prepared for distribution.
"The Philippine Embassy in Beijing, China, is preparing assistance to be distributed to the Filipino Community in Jilin and other areas under their consular jurisdiction," the DFA said.
According to the DFA, embassy personnel cannot travel to Jilin to bring assistance to migrant Filipinos due to local travel restrictions.
"Currently, local travel restrictions prevent the Embassy from traveling to Jilin to visit or check on the community. Nevertheless, the Embassy is closely in touch with the Filipino community leaders in the area," the DFA said.
Filipinos in Jilin are also encouraged to contact the embassy for any concerns.
They can reach out to the embassy directly via email [email protected], and their ATN Hotline +8613911180495 for urgent concerns.
