After utilizing the Holy Week break for training and much-needed rest, the University of the Philippines shoots for its eight straight victory against Far Eastern University on Tuesday, April 19, in the UAAP Season 84.

The Fighting Maroons, who hold a 7-1 record—their best showing since the Final Four era—set the pace for the stacked quadruple-header against the Tamaraws (3-5) in the 10 a.m. curtain-raiser still at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
With seven straight wins at hand, Maroons head coach Goldwin Monteverde remained grounded and said it all boiled down to teamwork and hard work at the end of the day.
With the help of extra preparation time the past week after UP's 85-76 win over National University last April 12, the multi-titled high school coach vowed to improve their performance in the next couple of games.
"It's more of a positive break in a way," said Monteverde. "I think lahat naman siguro ng players will rest. And they have a chance to prepare pa rin na mas mahaba. Again, to have more time to improve 'yong game namin."
Zavier Lucero, one of the frontrunners in the Most Valuable Player race, and Carl Tamayo are expected to deliver once more for the Diliman-based squad
The Tamaraws, for their part, need to reset their mindset and move on from their heartbreaking 64-63 loss against the Adamson Soaring Falcons.
Coach Olsen Racela is looking for consistency in his wards after Emmanuel Ojuoula showed grit in the paint with 13 points and 17 rebounds with the help of the explosive backcourt duo in Ljay Gonzales and RJ Abarrientos, who had 20 and 15 points respectively.
In other games, De La Salle (5-3) battles University of Santo Tomas (3-5) at 12:30 p.m., winless UE (0-8) takes on reigning and undefeated champion Ateneo (8-0)at 4:30 p.m., and NU (4-4) clashes with Adamson (2-6) at 7 p.m.
