Muntinlupa LGU recognizes 39 residents who passed Bar Exams

The Muntinlupa City government feted 39 residents who recently passed the 2020-21 Bar Exams.

The Supreme Court released the Bar Exam results on April 12 with 8,241 passers or 72.28 percent of the 11,402 who took it.

Muntinlupa residents who passed the Bar were invited to the flag-raising ceremony on April 18 at the Muntinlupa City hall quadrangle.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi commended the 39 new lawyers and gave them certificates of recognition

“We are very proud of your achievements and for the honor that you have given to Muntinlupa. We welcome our new attorneys as we serve the people,” he said during the program.

Among them is Erika Rose Sanchez-Corro, daughter of Muntinlupa City Council Majority Floor Leader Atty. Raul Corro.

Corro recounted the struggles that the bar takers, including herself, experienced as they prepared for the examination such as postponed Bar Exam schedules, lockdowns, and health and emotional challenges brought by pandemic.

She also thanked the city government and the city’s frontliners for the local COVID-19 response including the extensive vaccination drive, saying it helped her prepare for the Bar Exams.

She encouraged her fellow Bar passers to serve with integrity and serve the Filipino people.

“Passing the Bar exam is just the beginning. What matters is what we can do with the privilege and responsibility that were given to us. I hope that we will be lawyers in the service of others and with integrity,” said Corro.
