Dental technician carrying 13 kilograms of marijuana nabbed in Mt. Province

BONTOC, Mt. Province -- A dental technician posing as a tourist was arrested by police on Saturday in Poblacion here after attempting to transport P1.5 million worth of marijuana bricks back to Manila.

Maj. Joshua Mateo, chief of Bontoc Municipal Police Station, identified the suspect as Rosendo Don Piquero Tadeo, 24, dental technician in Bicutan City and a resident of Grand Circle Condominium Unit, 307, Quipao Manila.

According to Mateo, they received an information from the concerned citizen that the suspect came from Kalinga province and passed through Tinglayan-Sadanga road, towards Bontoc town.

Operatives of the Mt.Province Provincial Police Office immediately conducted an interdiction operation and saw the suspect carrying a backpack in front of Kalley Xereox Center in Sepulcher Street, Poblacion, Bontoc, Mt. Province, near the bus terminal.

The operatives confiscated from the suspect 14 pieces of rectangular brick form of dried marijuana leaves weighing 13,021 kilograms and with a standard drug price of P1,562,520.
