2NE1’s Dara says she got her shoe back after it flew during Coachella gig

Sandara Park, or Dara, said she got her shoe back after it flew in the air during 2NE1’s performance at Coachella 2022 on April 16.

The four former members of 2NE1–CL, Dara, Minzy and Park Bom–surprised fans when they performed “I Am The Best” at the music festival as part of 88rising’s Head in the Clouds Forever set.

During the performance, Dara kicked, resulting in her right shoe (and sock) flying in the air.

In tweets, Dara assured everyone that she was able to have her shoe back.

“I got my other shoe back! Don’t worry~!!!” Dara posted on Twitter along with the pair of shoes she wore for 2NE1’s Coachella number.

However, she said, “I think my socks is still on the stage. With all the other performers... sorry for that.”

“Don’t worry about my shoes,” she added in another Twitter post. Her shoes are the Underground brand’s The Apollo Creeper – Black Leather & Leopard Print.

2NE1 debuted in 2009 and disbanded in 2016 but fans had always wished the members would have a reunion on stage.

The Coachella gig was 2NE1’s first performance in seven years since appearing at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) held on Dec. 2, 2015 where they sang “Fire” and “I Am The Best.”

CL, who also had a solo performance at Coachella, expressed her happiness about the group’s reunion.

"I am grateful and blessed to be alive with pleasure. Long enough to witness the marks I make and things I create blossom," she wrote on Instagram.

She added, “The reason why I decided to invite the members after I was invited to perform at Coachella, is because I wanted to see us reunite on our terms before it's too late. Through this performance, I wanted to relay my gratefulness to everyone who has been supporting and loving 2NE1 for the past 12 years,” according to SBS News.

“For that very reason, today was the most important and meaningful day for me. Thanks to this very moment of today, I hope you could relive the post emotions that you felt through us. I want to express my thanks to the members who dazzled today's stage, and to everyone who worked together to make this come true. I will keep running until the day we could perform a full hour on this stage,” she said.
