2nd COVID booster shot 'scientific response to waning immunity' — Andanar
Malacañang on Monday said that the administration of the fourth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on the immunocompromised and the elderly "has nothing to do" with the possible uptick of new Covid-19 cases next month.
In a statement, presidential spokesman Martin Andanar said the second booster shot, which was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration, is not about the potential surge of new Covid-19 cases during the elections month but is only the government's "scientific response to waning immunity."
"Our goal is to reinforce the shield that will protect us from any variants already here and that might come in later on," Andanar said.
Palace also called on the public to continue its adherence to the minimum health protocols "as experts warn of an uptick in cases."
"Prevention is better than cure," Andanar added.
