People converged on the street near the town church at around 4 a.m. to participate in Holy Week activities that were previously postponed from 2020 to 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Catholic parishioners witnessed the "Salubong", a dawn procession that presents a re-enactment of the meeting of the Virgin Mary and the image of the Resurrected Christ.

After fulfilling Easter church ceremonies, tourists and residents flocked to resorts and recreational places in the town to spend Easter Sunday with their friends or families.

Kids and adults were also seen enjoying their time swimming at the water parks despite a slight drizzle early in the morning.

Sports facilities including pools, rooms, and cottages were fully booked at the Binangonan Recreation and Conference Center (BRCC), located at the Manila East Road in Barangay Batingan, as all slots were reserved by the guests days prior to the Holy Week.

According to the BRCC administration, most of the sports facilities have resumed operations to cater to residents and non-residents of Binangonan since the easing of public restrictions after a decline in Covid-19 cases.

These facilities include courts for badminton, table tennis, volleyball, and basketball, the fitness and zumba areas, as well as the billiards and bowling centers.

Many people also visited the town’s fish port and port to Talim Island, locally known as ‘Pritil’.

They lined up to ride the boats that ferry to the dagger-shaped island communities in Laguna Lake, the country’s largest freshwater lake.
