The Philippine Esports Organization has launched its grassroots program in hopes of discovering esports athletes who would soon represent the country in international tournaments.

PeSO, through its Facebook page, announced the launching of its National Grassroots Program on Thurday, April 13.
“Presenting The National Grassroots Program! This is our new initiative that aims to cultivate and develop the grassroots side of our country's proud esports community!,” PeSO said in the post.
The program is set to give opportunities to new and aspiring esports enthusiasts through access to community tournaments, informative webinars and other projects including its planned ‘GG truck’.
“One of the mandates of Philippine Esports Organization is to create programs that uplift our esports athletes. Welcome to NGP year 1,” said PeSO Deputy Executive Director Marlon Marcelo in his own Facebook post.
PeSO is set to announce more details of the program soon but has already opened the registration for its first ever DOTA 2 Grassroot Tournament which is set on April 23-24. Registration will be until 2 p.m. on April 20.
